Are my files uploaded anywhere?
No. Everything runs inside your browser tab with JavaScript. Your files never leave your device, and nothing is stored after you close the page.
Which method should I choose?
For scans, photos and brochures, use Max savings (Balanced). For contracts and reports where copy-paste matters, try Keep text first.
Why can’t I select text after compressing?
Max savings redraws every page as an optimised image. Choose Keep text if you need searchable, selectable text.
Why did my file barely shrink?
Some PDFs are already optimised. The tool compares sizes and will recommend keeping your original rather than handing back a larger file.
